PATRIOTIC AND TRADITIONAL FERVOR MARK 61 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

nm-flug-hosting-55The 61st Independence Day was celebrated across the city with enthusiasm and traditional fervor. The main ceremony was held at Mantralaya where Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh hoisted the national flag. Dy. Chief Minister R R Patil and Mumbai Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor were also present during the ceremony. At Central Railways HQ at CST, GM Soumya Raghavan hoisted the national flag in the presence of railway officials and railway police. At MCGM, Mumbai Mayor Dr. Shubha Raul hoisted the national flag. MCGM Commissioner Dr. Jairaj Pathak and other officials and public representatives were present during the ceremony. At the Thane Collector’s Office, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik hoisted the flag in the presence of Thane Collector S S Jhende. Thane Police Commissioner Madhu Shinde hoisted the flag at the Thane Police HQ. Senior officials of the Thane Police were present during the ceremony. Thane Mayor Smita Indulkar hoisted the flag at the Thane Municipal Corporation in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Nandkumar Jantre. In Navi Mumbai, the national flag was first hoisted at the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate. DCP HQ N D Chauhan hoisted the flag here. At Konkan Bhavan, State Minister Vinay Kore hoisted the national flag. The flag was hoisted in the presence of Konkan Commissioner A K Pathak. CIDCO, NMMC and Navi Mumbai Police officials joined the celebrations at Konkan Bhavan. At CIDCO HQ, Chairman Nakul Patil hoisted the flag in the presence of CIDCO MD G S Gill and Jt. MD Deepak Kapoor. Navi Mumbai’s 1st citizen Anjani Bhoir hoisted the flag at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Dy. Mayor Shashikant Birajdar and Commissioner Vijay Nahata were also present during the ceremony.
