A morcha was taken out by thousands of workers in front of the Vashi ration office to protest against the black marketing of ration. Around 1000 women and men took out a morcha at Vashi Ration Office and presented their demands. The agitated women alleged that the black-marketing done by the corrupt ration officers has led to shortage of ration like oil for the poor people. The protestors further demanded that the criteria of income below poverty line should be changed. The protestors met R H Sawant, the Rationing Officer at Vashi with their demands. However with corruption being so deep rooted, an end to the black-marketing done with the alleged blessings of ration officers seems unlikely; despite the cries of the poor.
