ramzaan-5The holy month of Ramazan comes to an end. NMTV News brings to you a special report on the last Friday of the holy month popularly known as “Alvida Juma”. During the holy month of Ramzan, fasting occupies central space in the hearts and minds of Muslims, but apart from fasting, Ramzan is also synonymous with gastronomic indulgence…once the sun goes down that is. The moment Azan (call for prayer) is heard, the fast is traditionally broken with dates and a glass of water. But what follows is an extravagant and delicious food marathon. While Ramazan is a month of great feasting it can also be considered as one of the most strictest restraints and strict fasting. The ending of this holy month definitely leaves the muslims sad. It is a sad moment in a believer’s life when something so precious is departing. Bidding farewell to their month, muslims observe Alvida Juma. During Alvida Juma, Muslims perform the Alvida namaaz to bid farewell to their pious month. The Muslim community deliver the Alvida Juma Namaaz on the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramazan. All good things must come to an end, and so must Ramazan. For the muslims, the king of all the months is departing and while they pray for forgiveness and happiness, they await the holy month of Ramazan to come again next year to grace them with blessings.
