POLITICS BIGWIGS VISIT THE CITY

Politicians-1It was an incomplete election campaign rally for Samajwadi party candidate Abu Azmi as Sanjay Dutt and Mulayam Singh Yadav remained absent leaving the campaigning to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan, Jaya Bachchan and Amar Singh. Samajwadi party candidate from Mumbai North Western Abu Azmi is trying everything possible to win the elections. But his difficultly is that he is facing tough competition not only from Shiv Sena but also strong Congress contender Gurudas Kamat. Even though the constituency has 47% Muslims and North Indian population, but Congress will eat into these votes. To counter this, Abu Azmi was looking for support from Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sanjay Dutt but to the disappointment the crowd not only did Mulayam Singh Yadav remain absent but their favorite Sanjay Dutt was also not present. The rally did see the participation of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan, Amar Singh, Jaya Bachchan and Manoj Tiwari. Amar Singh tried to cover up the absence of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sanjay Dutt by alleging that the they were threatened by Chota Rajan – who he said was close to Gurudas Kamat – to remain absent from the rally. Jaya Bachchan not surprisingly attacked Raj Thackeray on the migrants issue in her address. Lalu Prasad Yadav was in complete attacking mode on BJP and said that the party name should have been Bharat Jalao Party. Ram Vilas Paswan on the other hand said that there is a poor India and a rich India and his party stands up for poor India. That is why the people will vote for their party so that they are given an opportunity to improve life for poor India. Despite the attempts of all Ministers, the crowd still returned disappointed because they could not see or hear Sanjay Dutt. Reliance sources said that the reason why Sanjay Dutt was not present for Abu Asim Azmi’s rally was because he has not campaigned for his sister Priya Dutt this time either and hence, campaigning for another candidate would have raised questions.
