The terror attack in Pune has brought Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in the line of fire. A whispering campaign triggered by the saffron camp has already started doing rounds questioning Ashok Chavan’s rationale in security overkill last week for Shah Rukh Khan’s movie. With the My Name is Khan row and then the Pune bomb blast, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has come in the line of fire. This, apparently, is the reason the Congress leadership brought in Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to handle the Pune blast. SMSes are taking rounds stating, “This government has security forces to protect Shah Rukh’s movie posters but is not bothered about a common man…This is Ashok Chavan’s government,”. The Sena too has publicly aired its ire at the government. A member of the Chavan government admitted that the blasts in Pune will wash down all the “good work” he did in handling Rahul Gandhi’s Mumbai visit followed by controversy over Shah Rukh Khan’s movie. Bureau report NMTV News.
