Workers allege that despite the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Office of the Official Liquidator realizing a sum of over Rs. 11 Crores, the company management has not given their dues to the workers. The protest during the indefinite strike became more aggressive when the workers took out the effigy of CM Vilasrao Deshmukh and burnt it. The police intervened to bring the situation under control. The condition of workers of Poysha Industrial Company reflects upon the sad story that the Thane Belapur Industrial Belt tells. Once the golden belt of Asia, industries here have died one after the other making lakhs of workers unemployed. Where on one side the state is leaving no stones unturned to develop SEZs on the other side of this city where workers from other countries will make a living, the state had failed to do anything for the domestics industries that have either shut down or shifted to other states due to the failed schemes and policies of the state government.
