Pratibha Industries – the contractor of the Rs. 200 Crores Kalamboli-Digha pipeline work in Navi Mumbai is once again in news for all the wrong reasons. Sources allege that the contractor has been one of the reasons for the shortage of LPG gas cylinders in Navi Mumbai. So there has been acute shortage of LPG cylinders in Navi Mumbai and who doesn’t know about black marketing. But the new reason giving impetus to the alleged black marketing is Pratibha Industries – the NMMC contractor of the Rs. 200 Crores Kalamboli-Digha pipeline work in Navi Mumbai. Many have seen how the contractor has been using the cylinders on site for welding purpose of pipelines. However, despite the allegations that Pratibha Industries has been illegally buying the cylinders, there has been no enquiry being done. This is what one of the Pratibha Industries engineers had to say on the fresh allegations on them. Technical experts A K Singh says that often contractors misuse LPG for welding purpose as the other resource acetelene gas that should be used expensive as compared to LPG.
