PRIME MINISTER DR. MANMOHAN SINGH URGES VOTERS TO BRING BACK CONGRESS TO MAKE MUMBAI A WORLD CLASS CITY

pm-visit-3Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh arrived in Mumbai to meet businessmen, entrepreneurs, industrialists and professionals of various industries in a brief meeting. NMTV Managing Editor Zeba Warsia was present during the meet and reports that the Prime Minister gave one of his best direct-from-the-heart speeches during the meeting. A select gathering of businessmen, entrepreneurs, industrialists, professionals of various industries, Congress leaders and parliamentary Congress candidates gathered at the Grand Ball Room of Grand Hyatt, Santacruz to hear Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in a meeting organized by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. In a while, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh arrived at the venue and was given floral welcome to Mumbai by Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, MPCC Chief anickrao Thakre, Mumbai Congress Chief Kripa Shankar Singh and all the parliamentary candidates of the party contesting from the region of Mumbai. Welcoming the Prime Minister to Mumbai, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan praised their party’s Prime Ministerial candidate. He also informed the gathering the financial support that the state has received from the Center for upgrading infrastructure and bettering quality of life in Mumbai. The Chief Minister gave a powerful conclusion to his address as he urged urged Mumbaikars to continue giving their support to the Congress that will enable Dr. Manmohan Singh to continue the commendable work that he is doing in the highest political office of the country. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh started his address by speaking on the subject of 26 / 11 Mumbai Terror Attacks. He promised that their government would do everything possible to ensure that such ghastly attacks are never repeated and saluted the spirit of Mumbai. The Prime Minister also drew a line of comparison between the BJP and Congress. The Prime Minister urged voters across Maharashtra and Mumbai to vote for Congress, as they are the only party that can give Mumbai the future that it aspires. The Prime Minister also released the manifesto of the party on the occasion. During his address, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh also made some significant reflections on the achievements of his government. And promised of inclusive growth and development if the nation gave the Congress another chance to run the government. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said that that when he had come to office, one of his main focus areas was to wipe the tears of the farmers and he believes they achieved that. Speaking about the work the UPA has done in rural India, he said that their government has invested 1000s of Crores for the upliftment and welfare of the poor in rural areas. With the Sarv Shikhsha Abhiyaan being another successful initiative of the UPA, the Prime Minister spoke about it and their focus in bettering the standards and making quality education accessible in rural and urban India. Comparing the growth rate the nation registered when Congress ruled and when BJP ruled, the Prime Minister urged Maharashtra and Mumbai to strengthen their hands so that the work the UPA can complete the unfinished task and continue delivering to the nation. The Prime Minister made a promise of inclusive growth and development. Most definitely Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s visit to Mumbai and his humble submission of the UPA’s achievements and promises in the future has given a boost to the chances of Congress in Maharashtra.
