NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata called for a joint meeting of schools, colleges, doctors and media to share the guidelines and clear the confusions and scare that surrounds the cases. Chiranjeev Mandewal of Nerul, Devdatt Sarkar of Apeejay School Nerul and Gunjan Tiwari of NMMC school in Nerul are the three victims of the swine flu from Navi Mumbai. As news of these cases spread in the city so has panic and a sense of fear. To clear confusions and give guidelines for tackling the subject and restraining the spread, NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata met school and college representatives along with doctors and media at Nerul. NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata stated that citizens were afraid after the disease started spreading in the city however with the guidelines provided at the workshop more awareness has been created among the people.
