Shiv Sena is all set to play the role of an aggressive opposition who will raise voice on public issues and will ensure that there is judicious utilization of public funds. The same was voiced by the Navi Mumbai Shiv Sena Chief Vijay Chougule while speaking to Monika Bhosale. Make no mistake – the spirits of the Navi Mumbai Shiv Sena is high and there is reason for this. Under the leadership of the party’s district chief Vijay Chougule, the Shiv Sena has beaten the Congress and has taken second place in NMMC polls to form the opposition party. The party has got 16 seats and with 1 seat of the BJP, the alliance has 17 seats. This alliance is the new opposition party of NMMC. The party knows that with this has come the opportunity to give NMMC an aggressive opposition that Congress could never be. Speaking to NMTV News, District Chief Vijay Chougule, under whose leadership the party managed this feat, says that there target was 26 seats but he is happy that they got 16 to form the opposition. He said that despite facing the challenge of the state machinery being against them and they being less on money and muscle power, they won 16 seats. According to Vijay Chougule, despite not being the opposition party in NMMC in the past, they always raised there voice on issues. Vijay Chougule also said that since they have got the responsibility of being the opposition, public issues will be there priority. On the role of MNS in municipal polls, Chougule said that the people have shown MNS their place in the elections as they knew that NCP had a silent pact with MNS. He also said that there was no regret that the Ashtvinayak Group has defected from the Sena as he alleged that these corporators were always working for NCP under cover. Now Chougule says that there priority for the next five years will be to ensure that there is judicious utilization of public funds. The big question is “Who will be the next Opposition Leader of NMMC?” – to this Chougule says that a true Sainik who is capable of playing the role will be made the Opposition Leader. He hinted that it even could be a woman corporator. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Monika Bhosale for NMTV News.
