Raigad forts may soon get a makeover


The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis indicated that several other forts across the state will be taken care of in the forthcoming months, during the Raigad Fort Festival. Around 17 forts are expected to get a makeover at the Raigad district.

The MTDC has already written to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the state that it will fund the makeover of the forts in Raigad district.

“Two years ago, the MTDC had proposed some beautification work of 17 forts in Raigad district. These works include landscape development, signage installation, public amenities. Now a fresh proposal has been sent by MTDC for the forts’ upkeep and we are looking into it,” said ASI Superintendent Madan Singh Chauhan, while speaking to a news daily.
