Following the derailing of a train on the Western Lines, the commuters traveling during the peak hours had a tough time reaching to their destinations on time as trains starting running late on this route.
Slow line trains were shut down for four hours routing from Bandra to Churchgate leaving commuters stranded at the railway stations.
The coach that derailed was an empty train which was headed towards the Lower Parel workshop where the incident happened.
Suburban train traffic on Western Railway’s slow corridor were fully restored by the later hours of the day. Due to this disruption, about 100 suburban services were cancelled and some services delayed.
