Knowing that Thane is going to play a very important role in the state politics, every party is putting in their might to make a mark on the seats in Thane. Among other senior leaders of political parties, even MNS Chief Raj Thackeray arrived in Thane late on Sunday to address a rally for his candidate Rajan Raje. MNS Chief Raj Thackeray pointed an accusing finger at Uddhav Thackeray, saying the Shiv Sena executive president had gone back on his commitment to ensure punishment for the assailants in a 2004 murder in which Sena candidate Vijay Chougule is an accused. The victim’s mother, widow and son were brought on stage at the rally in Thane. “Ironically, the same person accused of the murder has been given a ticket by the Sena,” Raj said. It was the first time Raj has named his estranged cousin at a political rally.
