The foundation stone was the new centre was laid by yoga guru Baba Ramdev. The Dance bar would now be converted into a yoga centre. Sudhakar Shetty, the owner of the bar, had admitted he was inspired by the baba’s teachings and had become his devout follower. The centre would be functional in three months. The poor and the needy will be given free treatment. The centre will conduct regular yoga sessions with Baba Ramdev having classes at the venue whenever he is in the city. It maybe recalled that the Deepa Bar became infamous in 2005 during police investigations into a cricket match fixing controversy. Bar dancers were suspected to be a small but important link in the alleged nexus between bookies, the Hindi film industry and criminal gangs.
