CIDCO is developing a new two-lane road parallel to the Vashi railway station. The completion of road before monsoon will let commuters’ breath easy. The road running parallel to the Vashi railway station on the east side had given nightmares to the local commuters-cum-residents for the last several years especially during rainy season. Heeding to the call of the people, CIDCO has undertaken a project to extend the Vashi-Sanpada road towards the Vashi railway station. The asphalted road would run under the Palm Beach Road. CIDCO has assigned contract of this project to K.D. Company. The project is set up to complete before monsoon. The road would be ‘S’ type in shape with a projected width of 12 meter and would stretch to 300 meter. Most importantly, CIDCO has not disturbed the surrounding mangroves for the construction purpose. The two-lane road with two-sided pavement would be a long-lasting relief for the commuters and passerby. For the last so many years, commuters were demanding for the ticket window at Vashi on the east side, as they had to walk towards the west for tickets. New ticket counters at the east side are also included in the project which is again a relief for the commuters. With cameraperson Satish Garud, Shilpa Suryawanshi for NMTV news.
