RESIDENTS DEMAND SPEED BREAKERS FOR ROAD SAFETY

Breaker-2Residents of Agroli village and Palm Beach Road are demanding that authorities build speed breakers or ramblers in their area. With the increase in number of road accidents within the city, people have raised their concern stating that with no speed breakers accidents are bound to happen. A node where speed breakers are a must is the Agroli village road which is adjacent to the Urban Haat developed in CBD. The road leading to Urban Haat is inclined and connects directly to the main road that does not have a single speed breaker. The average speed of the vehicles is 80 to 90. The road being sloping, there are chances of vehicles ramming into the oncoming vehicles. Many locals expressed their concern over absence of speed breakers or rumble strips on the road. A similar problem is faced by the residents of Moraj Residency located at Palm Beach Road, which is known as the mini express highway of Navi Mumbai. The road has always witnessed worst accidents and even residents raised concern over rash driving and advocated the need for speed breakers.
