The residents of Mansarovar Society in sector 17 Vashi have raised their voice against the forceful encroachment by the builder Yunus Attarwala of using the society’s passage area and converting it into a shop. The matter seemed to have heated up when after the residents protest, the builder filed a complaint at the police station alleging that the Chairman and Secretary of the society have stolen money from the shops. The residents of Mansarovar society in sector 17 Vashi have alleged that the builder Yunus Attarwala has forcefully encroached upon the society’s passage by erecting walls and converting it into a shop. The builder has constructed walls covering the entire passage. When the chairman and secretary of the society raised their voice against this illegal extension of the shop no. 11, 12 and 23, the builder filed a complaint against the chairman and secretary alleging that the duo stole Rs 5 lakhs from the shop. The residents alleged this and have strongly protested against it. One of resident of the society alleged that the builder was illegally trying to take over the passage of the society for the connecting shops. She said that this had created problems for the children too who used to play in the passage. The residents allege that this is not the first time that the builder has illegally converted the society’s premises into shops. One of the shops names “Iifa” is also illegally constructed within the premises. The other residents of the society also expressed their grievance to NMTV News.
