The syndicate bank in Koper Khairne was robbed in broad daylight by three unidentified men. What’s most shocking is the bank is situated minutes away from the residence of a MP, a MLA and the local corporation’s Standing Committee Chairman and this puts a big question mark on the deteriorating law and order situation of the city. Three unidentified men robbed Syndicate Bank in Koperkhairne at broad daylight. Being a Saturday the banks’ working hours were from 10am to 2.00 pm and it was past this that the bank was looted in the heart of a densely populated and publicly active area. The robbers took off the batteries of the employees’ cell phones and looted nearly Rs 5 lakhs and fled. Like several other banks even this bank had no security measures in place like security guards and CCTV cameras. While this once again surfaces the neglect by many banks across the city to take their security seriously, the concern rises beyond. This is because this branch of Syndicate Bank is minutes away from the home of MP Dr. Sanjeev Naik, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik and NMMC’s Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik. If robbers can dare to rob a bank in broad day light in such a high security zone area then it definitely is time for the Navi Mumbai Police to pull up their socks to check the deteriorating law and order situation of the city. This perhaps is the biggest challenge in front of Navi Mumbai’s new Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol. With cameraperson Raju Sharma, Jan Cabral for NMTV News.
