SACRED HEART HIGH STUDENTS SHINE IN WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT

sacred-1Students of Sacred heart high school Vashi won the first place in the waste management project conducted by Indian Women Scientists’ Association (IWSA) and supported by Sir Ratan Tata Trust. The school even has a demonstration pit placed in their school premises itself. Sacred Heart High School students bagged the first place in the ‘Clean and Green cities; students’ initiative in Environment monitoring’ organized by Indian Women Scientists’ Association (IWSA) and supported by Sir Ratan Tata Trust. The competition saw 2 schools from Navi Mumbai and two from Mumbai participate who presented various issues on environment degradation. A group of 10 students from the class 8th from the school had started their project in July 2008. She added that a comparative study was done on the growth rate of tomato plants by using ordinary soil, cow dung, chemical fertilizer and school compost.
