Sandeep Naik is NMTV Changemaker Of The Year 2020

The year 2020 changed the lives of hundreds of millions of people through lockdowns all over. It forced humans to change their ways of living and working. As we enter into 2021, the future still looks uncertain and we still do not know when our cities might return to normal.
Amid the upheaval, COVID-19 was taken head on by leaders, experts and professionals – from among us – to fight the unknowns of this virus. The entire year demanded one thing very clearly – CHANGE.

And not everybody had in them to comprehend how to change & what to change. Hence, we looked up to leaders who could show how to go about making people & authorities understand how to change in order to combat COVID-19. In Navi Mumbai, the city found this frontline face of a leader in Ganesh Naik.

As Ganesh Naik mentored his team, former Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik became the only leader who not only tackled every single issue related to COVID-19 during the months of the lockdown, but he also started planning for a vision for a post COVID-19 Navi Mumbai with focus on healthcare, education, employment & environment. Sandeep Naik deliberated, questioned, appealed and created solutions of how Navi Mumbai will work, live and thrive in the post-pandemic future.

To create the future, one needs a sense of urgency. Sandeep Naik sensed this urgency like no other leader in Navi Mumbai. For tackling all social problems arising from COVID-19 throughout 2020 and translating public-interest intentions into action – we have chosen Sandeep Naik as “NMTV Changemaker of the Year 2020.”
