In a shocking incident, a netted window made of cement in a TMC school collapsed raising concerns amongst the teachers and students and exposing the dilapidated condition of municipal schools in Thane. The incident has risen concerns amongst the teachers and students as the complex houses TMC school numbered 7, 26, 41 and 119. The incident brings to light the deteriorating condition of municipal schools. The condition of this school is no different. There is leakage in the walls, pillars have broken down with foul smell emancipating. Students are forced to study in dingy and cramped rooms. Shortage of space has also forced students to study in the school office room. The principal and teachers are helpless in the matter as TMC Education department has failed to so anything in the matter. The Thane Municipal Corporation has allotted 89 crores in its annual budget for the development of its schools, but looks like they have hardly done anything about using the funds.
