Raising a pitch on the language issue, the Shiv Sena demanded that the Maharashtra government should change the name of Bombay High Court to Mumbai High Court. Raising the issue in the Legislative Council, a member of the Shiv Sena party demanded that the name of Bombay High Court should be changed to Mumbai High Court. According to the legislator, he was assured by then chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh a few years ago that the name would be changed. The Sena’s demand to change the Bombay High Court’s name comes a week after some of its members attacked Bombay Natural History Society’s HQ in south Mumbai for still having “Bombay” in its name. The 126-year-old BNHS is located opposite Maharashtra Police headquarters in south Mumbai.
