Residents living in areas closer to flyovers in the city have voiced discomfort due to the noise pollution caused by vehicles. They have demanded that the state should atleast take some step so that their issue can be resolved. With the increase in vehicles on road, the state has come up with many flyover projects in the city to ease traffic. But this increase has made life miserable for citizens residing close to flyovers as many times the noise created by oncoming vehicles crosses the prescribed limit of decibels thus inconveniencing residents especially children and senior citizens. The residents staying beside flyovers also said that Government should either build soundproof walls along the flyovers or make some alternate plan to control the level of pollution. BYTE PUBLIC While the state government has decided that all flyovers in the state which are within 30 meter radius of residential buildings must have a wall of six foot high sound barriers which is drastically going to reduce noise pollution, the decision is yet to be implemented.
