H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, was named by a high-level pan-Arab conference on Monday as the supporter of achieving peace and security for Arab women.
In a statement to the Emirate News Agency (WAM), Enas Makkawi, Director of Women, Family and Children’s Department at the League of Arab States, said all participants in the first High-Level Ministerial Conference on women and Achieving Peace and Security in the Arab Region endorsed the decision to recognise Sheikha Fatima for playing an effective role in helping Arab women.
Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, yesterday outlined the role of the UAE leadership, and of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, GWU, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, SCMC, in the empowerment of Emirati women.
