SHIV SENA PROTEST AGAINST CORRUPTION IN APMC

The Shiv Sena party had organized a public meet at the fruit market of APMC market. Under the ruse of inaugurating the Ghaok Merchants Sangh, the senior leaders of the Shiv Sena party criticized the corruption prevailing in the APMC market and declared to go on an intensive protest against this. The biggest agricultural produce market of Asia is coming under a lot of heat from political parties. One of them being the Shiv Sena party which held a public meet in the market and started its election campaigning. On this day, a THOK Merchants Sangh was inaugurated which would look after the various problems faced by the merchants of APMC. Present were some of the senior leaders of Shiv Sena which included Shivaji Sav Athalrao Patil, Subhash Desai, Anand Paranjpe and Eknath Shinde. During the meet, all the party leaders criticized the corruption prevailing in the APMC market and declared to go on an intensive protest against this. Today, there are many problems faced by the merchants of APMC. One of them being that the stalls and shops in the APMC market is even today owned by the market with merchants only being the lease-holders. In such a case, if the Model Act of redevelopment of the market is done, many of merchants could lose their jobs. Speaking for Navi Mumbai Sena Chief Vijay Chougule, the senior leaders promised of giving these merchants ownership right of the stalls and do this they would even go on a hunger strike at the market to press their demands.
