24 years, James Holmes had been held guilty of first degree murder after he opened fire in a suburban theatre during the premier of the Batman film ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ killing people with numbers still rising and wounding at least 70 of them.
Holmes was immediately arrested on Saturday and his associate was interrogated on suspicious ground of helping Holmes in this attack, but was later released as it came out clear that no other person was involved in this massacre. And things got clearer when the authorities had tried to enter Holmes apartment. As soon as it was found out that Holmes whole house is one deadly booby trap for anyone who even tries to enter it, the officials first send a robot to take down a trip wire and on entering found out that the whole place was set up with jars of liquids, chemicals and explosives, a deadly environment to destroy anybody who tried to enter or search the house.
Holmes himself had been carrying a military style semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun and a pistol to open fire inside the theatre. Fortunately the rifle that had the capacity of shooting 50-60 rounds a minute, jammed and then Holmes had to switch to another weapon.
Holmes at the moment has been held at a county detention facility on charges of multiple counts of first degree murder and had his first hearing today, on Monday where he even had been appointed a public defender. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
