SHOOTOUT AT BHOOMI CONSTRUCTION OFFICE AT SANPADA CREATES PANIC IN THE CITY

builder-firing-1Underworld threats once again created panic in the city as two members claiming to be from the Ravi Pujari gang opened firing at a builder’s office at Sanpada. Two unidentified men entered the site office of Vijay Gajra of Bhoomi Constructions at Sanpada, near Millenium Towers and opened fire. No one at the site office in sector 11 was injured as the duo only wanted to intimidate the builder for the purpose of extortion. While Gajra was not present at the site office during the shooting which took place, there were 11 other employees of Bhoomi Constructions present as the two men fired at least four rounds, damaging the glass partitions and office walls. Two of the bullets recovered are of 7.62 mm and 9 mm bore, which indicated that the gangsters used sophisticated weapons. The two persons gave an international number to the two employees at the reception and asked them to pass it on to their boss. The Bhoomi Constructions is building a two 31-storeyed towers called Bhoomi Paradise at Sanpada and Bhoomi Mall along Palm Beach Road. DCP Amar Jadhav informed the media that ever since he has taken charge, this is the 1st instance of underworld threat to a builder. Where on one side the incident puts a question mark on the law and order cover of the city, DCP Amar Jadhav said that for a rapidly developing city, the increase in crime is natural.
