Shreeram Vidyalaya and Junior College at Airoli celebrated “Syphony 2009” – the annual day of the school. It was an unusual function where the school administration headed by principal Prakash Nair wanted to present a personality who can inspire and encourage the budding students instead of a celebrity or a bureaucrat or a politician. Colourful performances, inspiring speeches and honoring students and teachers marked Symphony 2009 – the Annual Day of Sreeram Vidyalaya. The annual day celebrations that spoke in volumes about why Airoli’s Sreeram Vidyalaya is one of the best schools of Navi Mumbai. NMTV Editor-in-Chief Dr. Ravi Subbaiah was the Chief Guest for the event. Symphony 2009 aimed at providing an opportunity to the students to exhibit their talents on stage and to felicitate the students who excelled academically. Calling Dr. Ravi Subbaiah an ambassador of compassion and motivation, Dr. Ravi Subbaiah was welcomed in the presence of the School’s Principal Prakash Nair. The programme began by lighting the lamp in front of the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Following which a prayer song was sung by the students. Chants of Gayatri Mantra and Prayer of Lord Ganpati filled the environment with sanctity. Sreeram Vidyalaya aims at all round personality development of students. Besides focus on excelling academically, students are also encouraged to participate and perform in extra curricular activities. Besides yoga, abacus, tabla, keyboard and harmonium students at the school are also taught taekwondo – a Korean form of martial art.
