A ghazal programme was held by the North Indian Association keeping alive this form of classical music in todays world of modern music. The North Indian Association arranged a ghazal programme titled Shyam-e-ghazal. Where one would have thought that the younger generation is enthralled in the music of rock and roll, more than thousands of ghazal lovers attended this programme and proved that even today there is no dearth of ghazal listeners. The highlight of this programme was that retired Army Surgeon and upcoming ghazal singer Ashok Chopra graced the event and with the magic of his voice, mesmerized the crowd by singing all varieties of songs, be it Raj darbari or Raag Bhairavi.
