Smiles Foundation & Navi Mumbai Police turn Hunger Heroes for the needy

Even as India’s richest state Maharashtra is facing a dual crisis of battling COVID-19’s second wave and imposing curfew like lockdowns, the common man, already living in a hand-to-mouth existence is now scrounging to feed on suffering livelihoods.

With Navi Mumbai becoming vulnerable to COVID’s second wave, the city once again witnesses it’s only active NGO – Smiles Foundation back on fore amid the pandemic, reaching out to the weaker sections and feeding the needy.

From supplying essentials to ration kits to the underprivileged communities of Navi Mumbai, Smiles Foundation amid the pandemic dearth has reached in delivering food boxes to over 100 + families across Rabale, Taloja, Panvel, Vashi and Nerul.

Carrying distribution drives throughout the day in different parts of the city, Smiles Foundation has successfully managed to offer food support by reaching the city’s hardly visited arenas where help was required the most.

Smiles Foundation Chief Dhiraj Ahuja’s efforts were complimented by Navi Mumbai Police as they stepped up in support by joining the distribution to feed the hungry and the poor.

Navi Mumbai Police along with Team Smiles were seen relentlessly serving the masses hosting the distribution which witnessed the presence of Navi Mumbai’s top cops along with DCP Suresh Mengade, ACP Vinayak Vasth, Senior PI Vashi Ramesh Chavan, Nerul’s Senior PI Shyam Shinde, Senior PI Rabale Yogesh Gawade and Rabale PI Shirish Pawar among others.

Considering the testing times the city struggles in, Smiles Foundations efforts and acts of charity in reaching over 1,30,000 families till date since the advent of COVID-19 in Navi Mumbai and the exceptional participation of Navi Mumbai Police in aiding relief to the needy is indeed to be made note of and worthy of all appreciation.
