GANESH MANDALS TO GET BACK TEH DEPOSIT AFTER PROPER INVESTIGATIONS MCGM has made a declaration to Ganesh Mandals, that their deposits will only be returned back if the mandals have reinstated the streets and footpaths utilized by them during Ganesh festivals. There’s a circular for the Ganesh Mandals in Zone 2 from the civic body has said that the the deposits given by them will not be returned unless it is confirmed that mandals haven’t dug the roads while installing the mandals. More insight about this was given by MCGM additional commissioner RA Rajeev who stated that the mandals will have to prove that they haven’t ruined the roads and reinstated the footpaths. MCGM TO USE BOREWELLS AND WELLS TO COVER UP WATER SHORTAGE In another attempt to tackle water shortage, MCGM has approved funds to repair the city’s borewells and wells. MCGM additional commissioner Anil Diggikar informed that there are 6000 wells and borewells owned by the civic body which includes 1698 borewells in the city whereas 955 in the eastern region and 2712 in the western region. The Municipal corporation will also be taking over some private wells and borewells so that the problem of water shortage can be solved.
