snippets2MCGM ANNOUNCES 10 HELPLINE NUMBERS FOR SWINE FLU With the increasing concerns of swine flu in the city, MCGM has announced 6 more helplines for the masses. Also, there are now a total of 12 enquiry centers in the city. Additional Commissioner Manisha Patankar further informed that 10 additional helplines of the number 108 have been started. She informed that the affected patients are being treated with Tamiflu. TMC STARTS CAMPAIGN AGAINST SWINE FLU A special campaign has been formulated by TMC to prevent the spread of the most dreaded disease Swine flu in the city. Two people who had come from America to the city were apparently suffering from the disease who were later on admitted to Kasturba hospital and 14 other were tested for the disease who were in contact with them, informed TMC commissioner Nandkumar Jantre. TMC health officer Dr Kendre informed that till date, no case of Swine flu has been seen in Thane and with a view to prevent the spread of the disease, a group of medical officers has been deployed to the hospital and is well equipped with masks and medicines. MUMBRA ARREST The Mumbra police has detained 6 people who were allegedly going to attack Shiv sena corporator Rajan Keni out of political enmity. The police has seized country guns, two live bullets, pistol and an air gun. They have been presented at Thane sessions court and will be kept in police custody till 14th august.
