The name of Anna Hazare has become synonymous to issues and concerns of the common man and bringing the state to book wherever it falters. May be that is why whenever the social crusader meets a leader, it becomes news. This time, Anna Hazare met with the Chief Minister Ashok Chavan to bring to light the incomplete promises of the former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and presented few of their demands. He also threatened an intensive protest if his demands were not met. Renowned social worker and the man behind giving India Right to Information, Anna Hazare once again stood against the government. This time his demands included Adarsh Gram Yojna, ban on alcoholism, control on city contractors carrying out poor quality road work and punctuality and attendance of employees at government offices. After the meet, Anna Hazare spoke with the media and stated that during his tenure as the Chief Minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh had given them assurances and promises but till date they have not been fulfilled. Hence, they have once again taken their demands with the new Chief Minister. He also spoke of his demands with the media.
