In wake of the accident that took the life of a school going child in Chembur, MCGM in its Standing Committee meet has urged the need of having speed breakers. The issue was raised in the MCGM Standing Committee meet where the members demanded speed breakers on roads. Following the High Court’s order, MCGM commissioner has informed that work on the same would begin soon. STATE PLANS SKYWALK FOR FAST DARSHAN AT SIDDHIVINAYAK The state is planning to build a 1.7 km-long skywalk from Dadar (west) station to the Siddhivinayak temple. MMRDA officials involved in its planning said that the skywalk will begin at Dadar station, near the Kabotarkhana, and go along S K Bhole Road and on to Prabhadevi. This skywalk will be in addition to the one planned from Dadar station to Chaitayabhoomi at Shivaji Park, he added. ‘MINISTERS, RELATIVES GOT GOVT FLATS ILLEGALLY’ Union Minister Prithviraj Chauhan and a few Maharashtra Ministers were among those who were allotted flats from Chief Minister’s quota despite not being eligible, a petition in Bombay High Court has alleged. The scheme, under which state government has powers to allot flats to artists, ex-servicemen, journalists and `poor and needy persons’, has been abused by the politicians for grabbing flats for themselves, said the petition. The petition is likely to come up for hearing next week.
