ssc4The results for the Secondary School Certificate Examinations in the Mumbai Division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education was declared. The passing percentage of state board this year is 80.18% and Mumbai board is 84.21. A total number of 14,35,875 appeared for the examinations out of which 12,09,154 students passed. The girls passing percentage is once again higher that that of the boys with 84.80% and the latter with 83.71%. The Mumbai Division has first and second toppers from Thane who are Sonali Chavan, a student of Saraswati Secondary School, Thane. She scored 96.46%. There are two students from Thane who stood second namely Shefali Pradeep and Sanket Patil both of whom secured 96.30%. Speaking to NMTV News, the Chairman Shirdhar Salunkhe and Secretary Basanti Rai of Mumbai Board expressed satisfaction over the passing results. The Chairman further assured admission for all the students this year. Speaking on the 90-10 quota for students, Basanti Rai informed that while the formula was made keeping in mind the state board students, the final decision is still pending as a PIL has been filed in the Mumbai High Court.
