The stall owners in the area where the Santacruz W skywalk was being constructed has alleged that MMRDA has not kept its promise of compensating them. On the other hand, the Additional Chief Engineer at MMRDA has refuted these allegations. Once again the skywalk being built by MMRDA has been engulfed in controversy. This time round the stall owners of Santacruz West have put allegations on MMRDA of foul play. The stall owners informed that when the skywalk work was to be started the entire stretch of the road of closed down for the construction work. This had hit hard on the livelihood of the stall owners some of whom were even displaced as the pillars were to be placed where their shops were situated. The shop owners alleged that they were promised a monthly income by MMRDA till the construction was complete but that has not been fulfilled. On the other hand, the Additional Chief Engineer at MMRDA Anand Pahel has refuted these allegations.
