STARS AND STUDENTS COME TO STREETS FOR CLEAN UP MUMBAI DRIVE

cilean-up-3Giving a boost to the clean up drive of MCGM, students and celebrities got down to the streets of Nehru Nagar and initiated a massive cleaning drive. Loaded with masks, gloves, dustbins and brooms, the people also started a signature campaign drive where the oath of the locals was taken to keep their neighborhood clean. Loaded with brooms, dustbins, garbage bags and masks, the youth of the city went at it to clean the streets of Mumbai. The street that they targeted was Nehru Nagar, which was amongst the first nodes to be targeted. The drive initiated by United Way Mumbai Helpline, which is the official third party of MCGM in its Mumbai clean up drive, invited celebrities to make the drive successful. The aim of the drive is to ensure the participation of youth, students, senior citizens and corporates to spread awareness on the need to have a clean city. The drive would be carried out for a year to maintain the cleanliness in the area. Even locals were involved in the drive with shopkeepers made to sign an oath letter, which states that they will keep their surroundings clean. A survey was held by MCGM along with United Way Mumbai Helpline where they shortlisted the areas which needed the most cleaning. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Hansraj Kanaujia for NMTV News.
