STATE BOARD DENIES STUDENTS MISSING EXAMINATION DUE TO DELAY IN ISSUING HALL TICKETS

board-exaam-3The board examinations for standard XII have begun but many students failed to attend their exams as they have yet not received their hall-tickets. The HSC Board examinations have commenced with nearly 2.25 lakhs students appearing in Mumbai. The Board Secretary gave an insight on the number of students appearing for board exams and the centers. Thousands of students missed their first day of examinations due to delay in issuing hall tickets. Reports say that around 24 students of Kandivali were not able to write their exams due to this. The Board Secretary however denies the same and says that poor attendance was the reason students were not allowed to write the boards. While the state education dept. says that all measures for smoothly conducting the examinations in place, there have been non-stop complaints about location of centers and lack of proper arrangement for handicap students that has added to the stress factor. To top it all the board’s helpline number i.e. 27893776 is out of order too. Another suffering for most students appearing for the boards in the cities of Navi Mumbai, Thane and nearby areas is load shedding. 2008 will properly go down as the worst year for board examination students in recent times.
