STATE CONGRESS TO TAKE STEPS TO BEAT ANTI-INCUMBENCY FACTOR

congress-1With Maharashtra election being the first test of the UPA after the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress said it will go all out to ensure a repeat of its performance and would take steps to counter anti-incumbency of the candidates. Stressing its agenda to take steps to counter anti-incumbency of the candidates , the Congress party will be giving greater focus to those seats where it lost in the last assembly election in the state with a slender margin to make for the losses. The party felt that results will throw up a situation that will automatically end factionalism in the state. This method will also make serious attempts to bring all old disgruntled leaders into one umbrella to ensure that gains of the party are not frittered away in petty squabbles. The leader also indicated that though no chief ministerial candidate would be projected in the election, incumbent chief minister Ashok Chavan will have the natural advantage.
