After the state’s approval, BEST administration will now run on alternative routes that will add to the services BEST provides to lacs of its commuters. After a lot of efforts, persistence and follow up meetings with the state, BEST attempts have been successful as the state has given a green signal to the BEST to ply buses between Thane to Sion and Dahisar to Bandra. Besides this, BEST has also appealed the state to give it separate alternative routes to which the state has directed the Mumbai Police to study the same and give its clearance. Speaking to the media, BEST Chairman Uttam Khobragade said that wherever the state gives them alternate routes, they will connect them with flyovers, which will save nearly half hour traveling time for commuters between routes. He added that BEST is planning to reduce the number of stops on these routes to make commuting between two destinations faster. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Hansraj Kanojia for NMTV News.
