MLC Manda Mhatre has raised this issue too in the state assembly and took the high level delegation to see the pathetic conditions of the police colony. For the police colony Suresh Varpudkar – the head of the delegation said that immediate measures to improve the conditions will be undertaken. Police Commissioner Ramrao Wagh on the other hand expressed relief and happiness that one of their major issues was being attended to finally. The meet exposed how officers that have the moral duty to preserve the historical locations of Navi Mumbai but were failing the calls of their duty change their attitude in front of the visiting delegation. Residents are now hoping against hope that finally the neglected heritage fort at Kille Gaonthan will be restored before its’ too late to do justice to the rich culture and heritage of various civilizations of this land. With cameraperson Abhay Prasad, Rajeev Mishra for Navi Mumbai News.
