The amended employment guarantee scheme that was disapproved by the opposition to be brought to the house on the 1st day of the assembly was approved amidst chaos and mayhem on the fifth day. The state successfully passed the proposal without any discussions even as later the BJP raised protest slogans against this. Taking advantage of the on going protest on another subject in the house by the Sena, the ruling front shrewdly got its controversial amended employment guarantee scheme approved. The state desperately wanted to approve the scheme without any debate or so it seems. BJP MLA Devendra Fadavnees could be given the credit for vehemently opposing the proposal and not letting it be approved for four days. But on the fifth day when the opposition was making a hue and cry over the Narayan Rane plot controversy, without giving a chance to Devendra Fadavnees to speak, the state passed the proposal. The former sat down for two hours in the house in protest. Opposition leader Ramdad Kadam shared a similar opinion of protest. State Finance Minister Jayant Patil said that there was nothing wrong in the way the state approved the proposal. The scheme is likely to adversely affect the unemployed persons from the economically weaker section. Something every body will have their eyes on in the coming future.
