During the Chief Minister Ashok Chavan’s recent visit to Navi Mumbai, State Energy Minister Sunil Tatkare announced that his department was working on making Navi Mumbai a zero load shedding city. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan however, warned Sunil Tatkare that in the course, the customers were not looted. In a power stricken state, every energy minister is known to make tall claims and seldom walk the talk. Last week, Sunil Tatkare was added to this list as he announced that he was working on making Navi Mumbai a zero load shedding city and the state was planning a Rs. 100 Crore investment to meet this promise. The Dy. Chief Minister Chagan Bhujbal and Chief Minister Ashok Chavan both could not resist from commenting on this promise made by Sunil Tatkare. Dy. Chief Minister Chagan Bhujbal mocked at Sunil Tatkare saying that along with Raigad, the Minister should also made him native place Nasik and the Chief Minister’s constituency Nanded – free from load shedding and power cuts. On a rather serious note later, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan advised Sunil Tatkare to ensure that whatever understanding they work out with MERC should not end up pinching the pockets of commoners. Don’t loot the customers, said the Chief Minister. Sana Warsia – NMTV News.
