NMMC’s cultural and art centre in Vashi Corporator Prakash Mate’s ward was inaugurated by State Revenue Minister, Narayan Rane at Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Grounds in Sector 9, Vashi. A community center where cultural, arts and even marriage ceremonies could be organized was the need of Sector 9, Vashi that has a population mostly comprising of the Middle Income Group. The center has been built by NMMC with the initiative of local corporator Prakash Mate. What added glitters to the inaugural ceremony of the center was that State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane arrived at Prakash Mate’s ward to inaugurate the center. The evtn was graced with the presence of NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata, Thane District Collector A L Jarhad and Narayan’s Rane’s son Nitesh Rane. Corporator Prakash Mate said that the center has come up after three years of follow up with the administration. The center has been built with an expenditure of around Rs 80 lakhs. Two boys of Congress Corporator Prakash Mate’s ward who were sent by him to learn Karate has won championships at the state level. These boys were felicitated for their achievements at the hands of State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane. They were also given Rs. 35, 000 cheque each Narayan Rane too acknowledged the work done by Prakash Mate in his address after the inaugural ceremony.
