Blame it on the rains or the post election effect. But the vegetables at APMC have seen a steep hike. Even as monsoon showers hit the city, customers will have to shell out more from their pockets for their daily goods. Tomatoes which used to cost Rs 15 kg last week are now costing Rs 24/kg. The same goes with other vegetables like coriander. A handful of coriander would cost Rs 5, and while the cost is same, the quantity has reduced. Vendors blamed it on the rains for the hike in prices saying that there should be moderate rains otherwise it will spell doom for the crops. With cameraperson Vianyak Dalvi, Jan Cabral for NMTV News.
