MMRDA’s Metro Rail project seems to be receiving immense protest especially at Charkop where its car shed is being made. Former Petroleum Minister Ram Naik has expressed great disapproval on the car shed and have stated that if the work is not stopped then a situation like the Singur could take place. Speaking during his protest, former Petroleum Minister Ram Naik informed that with MMRDA’s car shed project nearly 18000 families, 2000 shops and 8 schools would be affected and hence the project had to be taken somewhere else. He informed that letters have been written to the former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and also the Prime Minister, but no positive response has been received yet.
