SUDHAAR COMMITTEE DISMISSES STATE GOVERNMENT’S PROPOSAL OF HELIPAD

helipadThe Sudhaar Committee dismissed the helipad proposal proposed by the State Government saying that the government always brings such proposals in the areas which are declared as silence zones by MCGM and gives way to noise pollution. The state government had come up with the proposal of making helipads on certain buildings as a security provision during disasters. The state then sent the proposal for discussions to the MCGM Sudhaar Committee. The state recommended making helipads on MCGM hospitals, private hospitals, 5 star hotels, Mantralaya and other buildings where helicopters landing might be required during emergencies. However, the proposal was dismissed by the Sudhaar Committee on the grounds that these places are declared as silence zones and the state government would result in noise pollution if this proposal was approved.
