It was a time of celebration and jubilation at T S Rahman in Nhava Sheva as its Navy cadets graduated from the marine academy. The T S Rahaman at Nhava Sheva is a training institute for young men wanting to join the Merchant Navy as sea cadets. 160 gentlemen cadets passed out this year from the institute who were honored by organising a przie distribution ceremony. Present as the chief guest was CIDCO MD G S Gill. Also present was of Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol along with the Chairman of T S Rahaman Mohammad Rasheed Yusuf. The passing out graduates welcomed the dignataries with a historic march past. The campus ground echoed with booming commands and thumping of young men, who will soon become commissioned officers of the Merchant Navy. Post the parade, the prize distribution ceremony was held where the navy cadets were honored at the hands CIDCO MD G S Gill and Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol. Speaking to NMTV News, CIDCO M D G S Gill praised the training provided by T S Rahaman and said that even the contribution of the Merchant Navy for coastal security was very important. His message to the students was to always work hard and have high ambition. On the other hand, Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol too said that the institute had boys enrolling from far of places and hence within the institution itself a sense of national integrity and unity was formed. Chairman of T S Rahaman Mohammed Rasheed Yusuf informed that the students were being trained and given seamen ship navigation. It is common knowledge that trained Indian Merchant Navy officers are in great demand the world over. The proficiency, expertise and dedication with which Training Ship Rahaman provides training to these cadets and ratings is highly noteworthy and commendable.
