thane-mayor-3Taking a cue from Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik who started the successful “Chairman At your Doorstep ” drive now even Thane Mayor Ashok Vaiti has announced a Mayor at your Doorstep Drive in Thane where he met the residents and got to the know the ground level problems of the residents. Thane city reels under many problems like that of illegal buildings, bad roads, water cuts and load shedding. To get to know the root problems and to know the issues of the residents, Thane Mayor Ashok Vaiti announced one of the most popular drive “Mayor At your Doorstep”. “Chairman at your Doorstep and MLA at your Doorstep” are two most popular drives of MLA Sandeep Naik which has resulted in knowing the root cause of civic problems and finding speedy and effective solutions. Following the footsteps of MLA Sandeep Naik, Thane Mayor Ashok Vaiti is soon to start the same drive and meet residents to know their problems. Through this drive, the Mayor will visit the residents and will try to gauge the magnanimity of their day-to-day problems related to water and gutter. During this drive, various department officials will also accompany him. The respective ward officers will also be informed about the visit of the Mayor in their ward. MLA Sandeep Naik’s “Chairman At your Doorsteps” has now become MLA at your doorstep. The drive has become popular as it successfully addresses civic grievances and ensures that the NMMC administration is on its toes for doing public work. Last week, we had informed you that leaders of Thane and Mumbai are trying to copy this initiative of MLA Sandeep Naik and one such leader seems to be Thane Mayor Ashok Vaiti. But it will be a wait and watch whether like MLA Sandeep Naik, Thane Mayor also ensures that public grievances are solved and his drive does not become just a stunt to gain Mayor publicity.
