The Taloja police department has arrested a gang of four involved in illegally selling 15 tons of copper coil from Hindustan Copper Company. The four were arrested in Nasik where the Taloja police was present for another case. Arrived in Nasik to solve another case, the Taloja police department arrested four involved in selling 15000 540 kilogram of copper coils worth of Rs nine lakhs from Hindustan Copper Company. Further information was given by the DCP of zone 2, Praveen Pawar on the case. The four accused had forged the necessary documents to transport the copper coils illegally to Nasik. The police department has also seized 66 lakh 17000 worth of copper rods. The accused were headed towards Ahmednagar where they were planning to sell off the stolen merchandise. And in another case, three unidentified persons looted cash of Rs 15 lakh at Agroli village near Belapur. The robbery took place in the Oil and Gas Division of the Das Offshore Engineering Company which is owned by Sangli’s MLA Suresh Khade. The burglars broke the lock of the office, tied and locked the watchman and looted the money. We spoke with the investigating officer of the CBD Belapur police station about the case.
